Hello Indo!!

Our first week in Indo. has gone by so quickly!

We’ve been having a blast with Elizabeth and Cooper. There has been a couple of fantastic flying days. One in particular where I got a 3 hour flight and got to show Cooper around the flying area. On the other I broke out the mini-wing (Niviuk Zion19m) and got to fly it around the ridge at Timbis. Flying that wing is super fun with all its speed and banky goodness!

Yesterday we spent the day around Bedugul at the awesome hot springs at Desa Angseri and visiting the Bali Botanical Gardens. The Iast time we went up there it was during the week and was nearly deserted. this time, on a Sunday, the springs were full of mostly Indonesians enjoying their weekend. Still we were able to get a private spring for the better part of an hour. The springs are in a bamboo forest next to some lovely terraced rice fields and are quite beautiful. Our tub had a really sweet river view and the water was the perfect temperature.

After the springs, we headed up to Bedugul on one of the highest passes on Bali. The temperature there was delightfully cool. We did a bit of shopping at a spice market which had huge bags of saffron and other assorted aromatic goodies for pennies, ate some basko (delicious and spicy meatball soup) and headed to the Bali Botanical Gardens to tour around. Here to the Balinese were also out in force, picnicking and enjoying the relatively cool weather. What a change from the Iast trip up here!

The day rounded off with dinner on a terrace overlooking beautiful rice fields and a fairIy wild night drive back home to Bingin through Denpasar.

All and all not a bad day or first week!
